President For A Day

We were President of fictional African country called Mobesi for one day…

We were assassinated, within an hour.

On a more serious note, I learnt a fact that really shocked me:

Live Aid raised £1.4 million for Ethiopia.
£1.4 million is the amount that LEDC’s pay into western banks.
Every single WEEK.

Pretty scary, right?

Clothes Show Liiiive! Yay :)

Twas seriously awsooooome!

I didn’t buy much for myself, but I did get loads of christmas presents for my friends. I did buy for me, though:
•Some face masks
•An orange houndstooth scarf
•Some Stargazer orange eyeliner (don’t get the flourescent one, it’s rubbish, the dark orange one is best), and some ‘rouge’ semi permanent hair dye (which I intend to use in the holidays).

The show itself was fantastic. I loved so many of the themes, too! There was:
Winter Waltz (v. sparkly!)
Snow Blizzard (the men were dancing as wolves!)
Modernist Neon (v. funky!)
Argentinian Tango (aka underwear! Fit guys much?!)
Kitsch Suburbia (v. cute, reminded me of ed. Scissorhands- which i love)
LA Catwalk (basically swimwear, more toplessness of the men ;) !)
Gothic Wonderland (my fave, was really into those Jacob Kimmie boots!)
Christmas Finale (slightly confused by the childcatcher from ‘chitty chitty bang bang’ but some very gorgeous party dresses).

Of course, when I say the guys were hot, I mean as in AMAZINGLY hot!
(I want one for xmas! Haha.)
Here, bambini, is the – i’m sure you will agree – solid proof! Enjoy ;)

Photos (c) Fictionary- thankyou! :)

Plastic Fantastic

Or How To Make Your First £Million,
was the title of the lecture that we went to see at the Grammar School today. Tbbf, twas alright, moderately interesting, but not particularly enlightening.

Twas also Wifey’s birthday, I baked her a cake, which we ate for luncheons :)
Personally I thought it was rather tasty.
Even if it wasn’t, it had pink icing, so that counts for something!

Ciao bambini!

Wheyyy mayte!

Last weekend I went to Animalmad’s. Twas so cool, we went bowling and shopping and watched Sweeney Todd and took her lovely dog Arty for a walk. It rocked. Also, I read the new Christopher Paolini book, Brisingr- it’s amazing! I’m already hanging on for the next one!

This weekend was my DofE FINAL EXPEDITION!
Day one went really well, everything went exactly to plan, on schedule, it was really good. RE, Pinkandfluffy and I already knew some of the area so that really helped and JM, SK, OS and LS were really nice about us letting them join their group and that, ’cause we don’t really hang out (they’re more of the popular people, if I’m honest) with them but they were still nice to us so all was good in the hood. We had bolognese for tea which was nice, much better than the powdered mash some people had. Ahem. But it was a bit upsetting ’cause LS had to go home, I felt quite sorry for her. Yeah, then I hung out with TMGT, (yes, the DofE group i used to be in but left, haha.) until the teachers told us to go to bed.
Day two, pretty good… we finished way too early, but since we’d done so well the assessors said they wouldn’t pick us up on it! So we hung out, went home… bath, bed etc.

In the morning I felt really bad, my knee is still really painful and the expedition made it worse so now I’m sat eating lunch writing this at home on my ipod. I’m off to do homework. Yawn.
Ciao bambini! Ti amo!

Duuuuke of Edinburgh!

10th Sept- MIKEY WAY DAY! Wore my Mikey hair and glasses, celebrated etc.

13th/14th Sept! DofE! AAAgh!
Day One went really well, no major mistakes, only one case of me walking through a bog in the middle of the footpath, until disaster struck! We were just a few Km from the campsite when we see the Fuzzy Teacakes in front of us and the Chemical Crew behind us, then realise we don’t actually know where we are. So there’s 20 of us stood in a random field screaming, shouting, crying and arguing until we just go back to the road and walk down it. At least we got back… then put up the tent, no rain but lots of mud, ate food in the dark, went to bed. I slept, but Animalmad didn’t… I talked all night, apparently. Sorry, bambina.
Day Two got off to a good start again, and we made good time too, next to no incidents whatsoever. I mean, I did have to dig Animalmad’s boot out of mud as deep as my arm, but other than that… we finished first! Ate ice cream, hung out, (barefoot. naturally… my boots were steaming.) and then went home.

School today was so hard, it was unbelievable… I was, to quote the great FOB, dead on arrival. I could barely keep my eyes open. In fact, at one point I was actually absoloutely fine, laughing away, and then my eyes were suddenly crying and wouldn’t stop! For no reason! It was rather embarassing… Sorry 3/4 moon. Also, my feet and my knee canes. I have a ruptured ligament. :S

Anywho, nothing a good night’s sleep won’t fix! It’s a full moon. Ciao bam… *SNORES*

So, how’s things?

Okay, so after my 50th I thought my blog was really kicking off.
And then, trust me, I simply stop updating. I truly am a major dork, especially since I have so much to tell you about! I’ve been so busy, bambini!

Okay, to sum up, I will tell you of the most significant events of the past, ooh… 2 months?
22nd May- Band Tech Gig. Very impressive, gentlemen and Penguin. Flourescent face stripes, much?
24th May- Camping avec ma famille. Pyscodlyn, Sugarloaf, Big Pit. Oh, and I saw some cool people from school.
30th May- went to an Avril Lavigne concert, which was pretty cool, had a sleepover at Golden’s, then embarked on the (arguably) best shopping trip EVER. Keywords: Golden, train, Birmingham, The Oasis (I love), The Bullring, The Pavilion, The Pallasades (Blue Banana and my amazing new Hell Bunny jeans).

8th- 14th June: French exchange. Horse riding, Drayton Manor, Bullring (new coverses from OSC!) many happy memories, haha. Also, on Friday 13th it was the Summer Fair- we did face painting and raised £97! Woop… and also had the privelige of painting Mr K’s face as a tiger, (which actually looked rather good), and Mr R’s as a ghost (well… it wasn’t awful).
27th- 29th: Guide/ Scout camp, Malvern Challenge. A-bleeding-mazing.30th June- 4th July: Marle Hall. Possibly one of the greatest things I’ve ever done. Sea Traversing, Gorge Scrambling, Mountain Biking, Navigating, High Ropes (aka BLT, Bell Log Trapeze), huge senses of adrenaline and achievement, and that’s not even mentioning everything. Actually fantastic.
5th- 6th July: D Of E practice. Ah, now. 9 hours of walking, setting up a tent in a downpour, Leonardo and I having to wash up on our own, the beginnings of Trench Foot (No, I’m actually serious) and that’s only the first day. Day two? Washing up, stale food, lazy teammates, broken tent, my so called friends blatantly ignoring me and vandalising a bus shelter, more walking. On my own, I would have finished. But no, we had to have a 10min stop every 100 metres. Yes, we failed. Thanks, TMGT.
9th July: Well, I should be happy, because the person who I like (Superhuman) asked me out, and I said yes. Then NewAgePunk tells me she fancies him and now she’s really upset, and that’s not to mention the fact that I’ve been told by several other people that they ‘fancy me’. I don’t understand it. Truly I don’t, everyone keeps telling me how lucky I am, but this is so awful! Whatever I do, I make someone upset. The only option I have aside from it isn’t bearable. What would you do? What should I do? Well, in my deepest mind, I suppose I know the real answer myself, I just can’t bear it.
11th July- Sponsored Walk. I did quite well, actually. And! DOCTOR WHO! Best episode, EVER. I cried so much though, Twas so sad!

Well bambini, that’s a wrap. I promise to update again soon.
Probably.
Maybe.
Possibly.
Not! haha, no… definitely! I love you guys. Ciao bambini.

General Knowledge does not pay off.

Sometimes I wonder why they bother.

We went on a trip to the RICOH arena, for a ‘careers day’, basically a load of people representing colleges and jobs and giving demonstrations. I had my eyebrows threaded by some beauty college and a scar ‘painted’ on my wrist (it was actually more wax and fake blood) by a make up art university. Or something. Both of which are totally irrelevant to my career as either vet or wildlife research journalist. But it costs a bomb to get your eyebrows threaded (not that I can see much difference), and the scar was very realistic/ gory, which is cool.

Actually, there was one stall relevant to me, Lantra or something, but I didn’t get to ask many questions as I sort of got off on the wrong foot with the woman:
Me: Oh wow! Are they bearded dragons? (signals toward display with said lizards)
Lantra Lady (obviously outraged at my prior knowledge… for some reason. Who knows?: Yeah. … **bovvered look**
Me: Oh… sweet. Yeah, it’s just I err… know them. Why is that one all flattened out?
LL: It’s just fat.
Me: (with nervous laugh), Oh, so not any, y’know, strange adaptation then? Ha…
LL: Hm.
Me: So, what kind of jobs are there at Lantra?
LL: Here. hands me a leaflet
Me; Oh… thanks! smiles widely but politely to unsuccesfully instir feelings of guilt

So, in all, a not particularly constructive day but I got lots of freebies! **yess**Well, you cannae say better’n that, cap’n. Ciao, bambini•
