Gerard- “The band was really born out of 9/11. It directly affected us, it directly affected me, I saw it with my own eyes. I was doing art in New York and I said, you know, I don’t wantr to do this anymore. It was commercial, and I didn’t like it- I wanted something that not only did I have control over but I wanted to work with a team, I wanted to be in a band. I wanted to be part of something and I didn’t feel like I was part of something doing art. So I made phone calls and I wrote one song and then we slowly built up the band that way. It was really magic from the beginning and it was something I found the right people for and they wanted to join and be a part of that.”
