A very meaningful quote from…
My Chemical Romance. Oh yesh.
Gerard- “The band was really born out of 9/11. It directly affected us, it directly affected me, I saw it with my own eyes. I was doing art in New York and I said, you know, I don’t wantr to do this anymore. It was commercial, and I didn’t like it- I wanted something that not only did I have control over but I wanted to work with a team, I wanted to be in a band. I wanted to be part of something and I didn’t feel like I was part of something doing art. So I made phone calls and I wrote one song and then we slowly built up the band that way. It was really magicĀ from the beginning and it was something I found the right people for and they wanted to join and be a part of that.”

By the way, Gerard was working as an artist for children’s cartoon companies, and you can watch an animatic of his first episode by searching ‘the breakfast monkey’ on youtube.
(I recommend you do- It’s class! It’s about a monkey from Scandinavia who can fly… oh yesh!?)
